Let your Shadow shine through
It's yours. It's safe.
When people hear the word shadow, they usually think: dark, heavy, negative. But I see it differently. I think of the shadow as a treasure box — a place where we’ve tucked away pieces of ourselves we didn’t know what to do with at the time. Some of those pieces or ‘parts’ feel uncomfortable, some forgotten, and some surprisingly beautiful.
The shadow isn’t “bad.” It’s just a collection of emotions we’ve learned to protect — fear, sadness, insecurity, even shyness. Facing your shadow isn’t about fighting demons; it’s about reconnecting with the parts of you that got pushed aside by You.
And here’s something cool: even the word demon originally meant “spirit” or “guiding force.” What if the parts you’ve been avoiding aren’t here to harm you, but to guide you back to yourself?
For me, the best way to connect with these hidden parts is through stillness — a walk in nature, journaling, or just quiet time with myself. Travel helps too, because stepping out of routine makes it easier to notice the parts of me I don’t always see or express.
So, I’ll leave you with this: when was the last time you paused long enough to witness yourself — not to fix or judge, but simply to notice who you are? Are there certain feelings, experiences, or sides of yourself that you tend to push away or have trouble connecting with? If you could strengthen or reconnect with one part of yourself—a quality, belief, or inner strength—what would it be, and why?
With love,
Yari ✨
P.S. If you’re craving more space for this kind of witnessing, join me in the Smoky Mountains for a retreat in nature. DM me for details — you’re invited. 🌿You can also read more about our retreat through the post shared by Adrian Molina
